Carlton Primary Football team played a match against Templenewsam Halton Primary on Thursday 14th March.

The football team manager Mr Coe said, “I used to work at the school we are playing so we had to win.”

Some team have been training since September so they have had a lot of practise. Mr Coe could not decide who to pick so he choose the whole 18 players of the team meaning there were a lot of substitutes. Matthew  said, “We think we have a chance to win but we do not know how good they are.” Tommy  thought it would be “3-2 to us” and he will "save lots of shots and the whole team will work together.” He also predicted that the Man of the Match would be Joshua.

The score was 2-0 to Carlton Primary. Oliver opened the game with the first shot but the goal keeper saved it. Jack  and William then scored a goal in each half. “We played well as a team,” said Joseph. Matthew Wright got Man of the Match for some brilliant defending and William said, “It was a great first game for the team, both sides were amazing.”
