On Monday 22nd April there was a special guest in Carlton Primary School, Ronnie the Rhino (the Leeds Rhinos mascot).

Tony, the Rhinos coach that has been working with year 5, came into Carlton Primary School to teach us how the Leeds Rhinos rugby team won the epic 2012 Super League Grand Final cup.

They won because they used team work, collaboration, determination and enthusiasm.

Tony also taught us how hard they had to work to achieve this award. They played 27 games against 14 different clubs.

Spencer inYr5 said, “I like the rugby because I like scoring the tries and winning with my team!”

Oliver in Yr5 said, “I like it because it’s always different."

Miss Harris, Yr5/6 teacher, said, “It is fun for them and they learn new skills playing rugby!”

In the assembly, when Ronnie the Rhino appeared, he did a special dance and then proposed to Miss Gowran. She said yes proudly.

On Wednesday 24th April there were two new pupils at Carlton Primary School.  We all gave a very big warm welcome to Molly and Luke.
