Life in the Wildlife Area

The first signs of life in the pond in the wildlife area have been spotted.

The first signs of life in the pond in the wildlife area have been spotted. There are all sorts of creatures and plants lurking under the murky water. With the help of the new decking, children can go and spot the creatures in their natural habitat. If this chance occurs, adults will be constantly watching and supervising them whilst they are witnessing the creatures’ beauty.

Some of the creatures are: water skating spiders, diving beatles, tadpoles, snails and lots more! There are also algae and many other species of plants in the pond. Even though most of them have hatched, there are still little tadpoles in the frog spawn all around the pond.

The whole wildlife area has been refurbished and renewed with new plants. We now have paths for the children to walk to the different bays of the wildlife area. Last year, when the area was new to the school, children donated a plant each and with the help of teachers and volunteering parents, planted them safely. Unfortunately, some of them died because of lack of carefulness. Children trampled them to death!

If any students are reading this, stay away from the new plants and use the wildlife area sensibly!
