At Carlton primary school there are lots of different after school clubs like Choir, Athletics, Gardening club and Netball. All of them require different aged children though.  Children like different hobbies and taking part in different sports that’s why the teachers put different after school clubs on.

Mrs Thomas is in charge of choir; she has been doing choir for many years now. Choir is singing and we get into some concerts including:  Rothwell Temperance Band and Wakefield Cathedral.  We are lucky enough to deal with this every year.  Ruth is the person who plays the piano in the Temperance Band and Wakefield Cathedral. Choir is all about trying your hardest and enjoying it!

Athletics is an athletic club, you do all sorts of sports. Most of the time it’s running! Mrs Maguire is the teacher in charge of athletics, also Mrs McDonnell takes part if Mrs Maguire isn’t well. Athletics is all about being sporty. It’s very educational!

Gardening club is all about growing and nurturing plants in our outside area. It takes place in our lovely wildlife area that is behind the Multi-sports-court! These are the things you can do: grow vegetables, pick all of the weeds out of the soil and have lots and lots of fun!  We work hard together to make the area as good as possible.

Netball is hugely fun and keeps us fit. Miss Gowran and Mrs Parker are the people who run Netball. Every year there is something going on to do with Netball and we take part in competitions.  We try hard to develop our netball skills and to work better as a team.
