If there is anything in particular you would like to see on here then please let us know!
Sunrise Class - Year 3 - Miss McDonnell
Monarch Class - Year 3/4 - Mr van Loo
Sutton Class - Year 4 - Mrs Hicks and Mrs Mackay
Back from the Christmas break, LKS2 have become geologists and researchers as they tackle the complexity of natural disasters. Focusing on earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions, the children are learning how natural disasters are caused, where they occur and how famous examples have affected people around the world. Later in the topic we will be using our knowledge of natural disasters to create exciting 'escape' stories.
Adding depth to our topic and writing learning, we will be exploring different categories of rocks in science - investigating the properties of igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks.
Our computing and music combine this half term as we create soundtracks for films using audacity and self-created sound effects. We will also be using software to recreate the famous song from the Wizard of Oz soundtrack, "Over the Rainbow".
For more detail on what the children will be covering, take a look at our topic web below (Malicious Mother Nature) and ask your child about their learning.
