CARLTON PRIMARY SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
WELCOME TO THE PTA
OUR ASSOCIATION AND COMMITTEE
Our PTA began in 2004 and since then has gone from strength to strength. Our aim is to raise money for the children to enhance their education and pay for the fun little extras that the school budget cannot cover.
As a parent of a child at Carlton School you are automatically a member of the PTA and that means that your views and ideas are extremely important to the Committee.
Our present committee consists of a small number of parents representing just about every year in the school, including Lower and Upper Foundation. The Committee is elected at our annual AGM. We meet once a month for approximately 1 hour to organise our events and decide how to spend the money we raise.
We are a registered charity which means we can take advantage of matched giving schemes from volunteers who work in many large organisations (please see the attached Matched Giving document). We are also well supported by the local community through sponsorship and donations.
Being on the PTA is very rewarding and our children have told us that they really like having us around in school.
Maybe you could join us and see for yourself.
Our aim is to raise money to buy things for the children and also to provide them with opportunities to have lots of fun.
Our fundraisers are:
- Christmas Fair
- Shopping Nights
- Race Nights
- Cake sales
- Bags 2 School collections
- Non-uniform days
- Refreshments at Summer production and sports days
Our non-fundraisers are:
- Halloween Party
- The best decorated Easter Egg Competition
- Pyjama parties for Foundation stage pupils
- Printed t-shirts for Year 6 leavers.
We use the main playground as our base to sell tickets for our events. They can also be purchased from the Post Office.

Thank you to every parent who has supported the PTA. Without your amazing support we would not be able to give all the children the little extras that make going to Carlton School even more special than it already is!
