As a part of your child’s education at Carlton Primary School, we promote personal wellbeing and development through a comprehensive Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education programme. PSHE education is the curriculum subject that gives children the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and practical skills to live safe, healthy, productive lives and meet their full potential.
We are required to teach Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) as part of our PSHE curriculum. High quality RSE help create a safe school community in which our pupils can grow, learn and develop positive, healthy behaviour for life.
For the 2019-2020 academic year, RSE will be taught in Spring 1 term. Please see the documents below which outline the objectives for each year group and demonstrate the vocabulary that will be used in lessons and vocabulary that may arise in lessons. At the side of this page, you will find details of lesson content for each year group.
If you have any questions about our RSE curriculum, please don’t hesitate to arrange a meeting with Miss Johnson (PSHE/Healthy Schools Leader) or speak with your child’s class teacher.
