Welcome to Royal Racing Rabbits class

Hello, It's Miss Fletcher here, it's so nice to be back... I had missed everyone so much. I'm sure you now all know my exciting news; I've been blessed with another little baby boy- due in August the children are so excited about it; as am I. Sadly I will be leaving school on the 21st of May due to COVID guidance but I will be working from home and will have regular contact with both children and parents and look forward to seeing your progress in the last summer term. Miss Radley will continue to teach both Royal and Supreme class together.

This half term our topic is 'What happens in Spring?' and what lovely weather we've had on our first week back to explore the outdoors. Throughout our topic we will be looking at life cycles, mini beasts, non-fiction books, growth, planting and changes. We will be looking at stories such as 'The very hungry caterpillar', 'little red hen', 'Jack and the beanstalk' and 'What the ladybird heard'.

We are very excited to have some new friends in our classroom, we have been pond dipping and have collected frogspawn from our school pond and we already have some tadpoles! We will be making sure we know exactly how to take best care of them before we release them back into our pond once they've turned into froglets. The children are already making regular observations of our frogspawn and tadpoles as well as finding out lots of facts, ready for our fact file writing next week.

The PTA are also gifting us with some more friends.... we're receiving some class caterpillars, to observe and learn all about. We cannot wait to watch them build their cocoons and turn into beautiful butterflies!

We have just assessed all children in their reading and we are blown away with some of the progress they have made please look in your child's reading record to see any targets set that may help them to progress further. In Maths we will be looking at 2D and 3D shapes, pattern, number bonds, sharing and grouping and even and odd numbers.

Please make sure you have all signed up to your parent's evening slot for next week, any problems please let us know.

Keep up the amazing home learning!

Miss Fletcher and Miss Radley.
