Hello and welcome to Ruby Class!

I am so excited for the year ahead with my wonderful new class. We have so many adventures to go on, memories to make and exciting learning experiences to share together.

The children have completed their first two weeks in Year 1/2 and have settled beautifully. I already feel incredibly lucky to be their teacher. They have brought an abundance of enthusiasm, creativity and curiosity, and we have had so much fun learning through hands-on activities.

In just two weeks, we have witnessed a spaceship crash, welcomed an alien visitor to our school and held our inspiration day for our topic, Who Were the Greatest Explorers? The children absolutely wowed us with their fantastic costumes, brilliant ideas and impressive knowledge.

In Science, we have loved carrying out experiments to learn how to observe and record like real scientists, with Spy Magnus, our Science Superhero, helping us along the way. In Maths, we have been exploring place value by creating our own rockets, making beaded keyrings to practise counting and taking part in lots of practical activities.

If the first two weeks are anything to go by, I just know we are going to have the most amazing year together.
