Overview
Young children are naturally curious and passionate about learning and we look to encourage this through outdoor learning. At Carlton, we provide a stimulating EYFS curriculum that nurtures children’s natural curiosity and their on-going knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
Science is fundamental in EYFS and through hands-on, enquiry-based activities, children will experience the joy of learning ‘how’ and ‘why’. As they move through school they will develop the independence to conduct experiments, whilst answering questions that may arise through discussions.
Children will be immersed in scientific vocabulary and encouraged to develop their oracy skills through participation in engaging and dynamic lessons.
Course Outline
The benefits of science at primary school are many. It helps pupils to: investigate problems, discover why it matters in the world and develop skills needed for answering questions effectively!
